Excerpts from Recent Lectures and Guidance
February 9, 2014: New Year Gathering in Nagoya (Event Hall, Nagoya Congress Center)
We have keen interest in the Development of the World (2nd cycle) and pay continuous attention to the specific incidents that occur in this world.
Take for example the salaried worker; are there not many of you here? Your interests lie in how much your performance has improved, how much market share you have obtained from your sales activities, and how much the company has grown. Why is this so? It is because these are factors associated with your career advancement and salary amount.
On the other hand, what do you think is the case with this cycle associated with our hearts (1st cycle, Exploration of the Inner Realm)?
While you are working, you may not have that much interest in directing the following questions to your heart:
“What is my attitude and motivation towards my work?”
“Did I make preparations with truthfulness and sincerity?”
Or in asking this question after work:
“How were my decisions at every moment of time, at this or that time?”
What are your thoughts? I would like you to reflect on this.
What I have spoken about, that is, what occurs in the 1st cycle within our hearts, cannot be seen with our eyes; nor can they be touched with our hands. Do you not understand it to be shapeless and vague, and without much significance of meaning?
Some of you may feel that “problems of the heart” are indeed important; still, even then, you may believe that the end result takes precedence – as long as things turn out alright in the end, as long as the “end result is good, then things are ok.” Has your heart not been given secondary importance?
However, what do you think about Mr. Okaniwa’s practice report you have just seen? When he set out to enrich his own life to one of hope, something vital was considered. What do you think that was? It was the spiritual deepening of his heart.
