Excerpts from Recent Lectures and Guidance

Development of energy in the external world is based on and promoted by the pursuit of pleasure, of instinctual demands of the body. On the other hand, development of spiritual energy residing within us requires us to overcome the pleasure-seeking principle in order to develop it, to do the opposite of this principle.

The pleasure-seeking principle makes us desire that which is convenient, pleasurable, delicious, warm, or livable, to seek more and more stimulation. However, with respect to the exploration of our inner energy, we are required not to follow the pleasure principle; it is mandatory that we transcend the pleasure-seeking principle. This means that in order for us to develop inner energy, the will of our souls is indispensable. Without this fundamental motivation, we cannot excavate spiritual energy buried deep within from the dimension of the soul.

Under such conditions, Cycle I (Exploration of the Inner Realm) has become weak without our awareness, falling far behind the overwhelming rotation of Cycle II (Development of the World). While the cycle of the Development of the World rotates with tremendous power, the cycle of Exploration of the Inner Realm cannot keep up with this power.

That is why I want you to be cognizant of what our practice of the Divine Truth has made clear to us over these several decades – that magnificent energy lies in Cycle I, in exploration of the Inner Realm. When the cycle of inner exploration connects with the cycle of external realization, a ripple effect of energy extends to the cycle of realization, to the Development of the World.

Is this not so? When one person strengthens his or her power of Ju-Hatsu-Shiki (perception-response-result), what do you think happens? What happens when one’s power of perseverance and insight increases? It is certain that as the power of our Ju-Hatsu-Shiki and wisdom inside of us increases, this energy will undoubtedly have a ripple effect to influence the cycle of realization, the Development of the World.

What serves as the most significant proof of this ripple effect of energy from Cycle I to Cycle II is evident in each practice report of the Divine Truth that has accumulated up to this point.
