Excerpts from Recent Lectures and Guidance

May 11, 2014: The Second Lecture of the 21st Global GENESIS Project at Sendai

The inception of the Global GENESIS Project originated from a wish to give birth to as many Bodhisattvas as possible. The origin of this wish was to develop bodhisattvas – a person who aspires to “seek one’s real self, to love others, and to contribute to world harmony” – through studies at the GENESIS Project so that they would be active in local towns and abroad, beyond national borders and into the world.

As you all know, the Global GENESIS Project has now spread beyond local (Japanese) regions extending to New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Brazil, Australia and other regions where we now learn together. Let us please be mindful of this origin as I continue with today’s lecture.

Please recall what I spoke to you about earlier in the lecture, regarding the “Zenyu Gathering.” It was 20 years ago, in 1994, when the “Bodhisattva Declaration” arose. Since that time, GLA has paved a way for each member to walk the path to become a Bodhisattva through persistent practice of the Divine Truth.

This year, 2014, marks the 20th year of this path that we have walked. On this occasion, let us consider to where our Practice of the Divine Truth has led us; and what wisdom and spiritual state of development each of us has received. To what extent and what kind of wisdom has been realized over the course of these past 20 years? We have been given time to examine the meaning of this time we now spend together.
