Excerpts from Recent Lectures and Guidance

August 3, 2013: Kakehashi Seminar
(auditorium at GLA Yatsugatake Inochi-no-Sato)

We have learned that there are diverse problems in this world. The problems you just saw such as smallpox, discrimination and war did not simply disappear by themselves. In fact, never in the long history of human kind have problems disappeared naturally by simply neglecting them.

How, then, do you think these problems disappeared?

They disappeared because there were people who devoted their lives day and night to resolving these problems: “Let us solve these problems… Discrimination is wrong… This is not right... All people are created equal… We need to get rid of prejudice and the corresponding systems of discrimination… We want to solve this problem.”
They were people who toiled a lifetime and it was only then that they were able to solve these problems.

Who do you think it is that solves problems? (Children: Us! People!)
That is right. It is us people who will solve these problems.

Conversely, it means that if a problem exists, a person who can solve it will appear. The problems that have appeared up to now are waiting for someone to solve them. The world awaits individuals who can take on the problem and solve it.
